Are you and your partner caught in a troubling cycle and it seems you are repeating the same conflict “over and over again?”
Are you feeling isolated or disconnected from your partner and have problems communicating effectively?
Do you yearn to return to the time when you both fell in love and want to rekindle the fire you once had?
Have you answered YES to any of these questions and want to talk?
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!
There are many couple relationships that experience hardships and have areas that may need growth.
Life sometimes has challenges for which you may need someone to help you navigate towards your next step. It can be difficult to try and solve the issues you are facing and you just want to get back to a loving, secure relationship. Remember, YOU BOTH ARE NOT ALONE!
Every relationship has areas that will need growth. The interesting concept about couple relationships is that there are two people who have decided to become one defined unit. The struggle with that is learning how to bring those two together and teach them how to dance in unison. Think of the TANGO. It is a dance of passion, closeness, and trust. How does one perfect the dance? With training and practice.
You may ask, “So, how do I obtain passion, closeness, and trust in my relationship?”
That’s where I can help!
My goal as a couple’s therapist is to help the clients become empowered in their relationship. Each relationship, as in life, has stages of growth. Think of your relationship as a small infant. Infants are born vulnerable to social norms; they have to be monitored and kept safe from dangers. They need caregivers who provide a nurturing environment. They are completely dependent upon their caregivers to mature successfully, in all areas of their lives. Yet, couples from newly dating to long standing marriages forget the care and training they need to nurture their relationships. They go through life, trying to navigate without guidance and sometimes find they are lost and vulnerable. Sound familiar?
Repairing or maintaining a healthy relationship is possible, but it takes work to make a positive change.
Do you and your partner want to strengthen any of these areas in your relationship? These and other issues cause anger, hurt, and confusion.
My goal is to help couples reach greater emotional intimacy as they process through these issues together, resulting in a stronger, deeper understanding of each other.
Welcome to your first step towards seeking couples counseling!
